Yoga

IMG_0078.jpeg

Yoga is the journey of being, through being and for being.

Bhagavad Gita

A yoga class is a practice that involves a series of physical postures (known as asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation .

Throughout the class, we will connect deeply with our breathing, using it as an anchor for our practice. This conscious breathing will guide the movements, providing physical health, mental focus and energetic elevation.

Classes may vary in style , intensity and duration , depending on the needs of the students and the intention of the practice.

In general, it works like this:

01

Intention and Initial Connection (Sankalpa and Class Theme)

Starting the class with intention helps with mental focus and truly transforms your yoga practice into a practice of self-(re)awareness. This is the moment to calm your mind with intention, noticing how you are and consciously choosing where you want to go.

03

Postures (asanas)

During the main part of the class, students are guided through a series of psycho-physical yoga postures that may focus more on flexibility, balance, endurance or strength.

05

02

Joint Mobilization and Warm-up (pavanamuktasana)

Gentle series of movements and stretches to warm up the body and prepare it for the flow of postures during practice.

04

Breathing (pranayama)

Conscious breathing techniques (often rhythmic) during the execution of asanas that help with focus, strength and relaxation.

06

Relaxation (Savasana or Yoganidra)

Final Integration (Mantra and Meditation)

Final relaxation in the lying position that provides the integration of the physical, mental and energetic benefits of the practice.

Moment to consciously close the practice where students are invited to remember the benefits and insights of the practice.
